Skiing Tips for Novices and Intermediates

Fourth, keep your skis sharp. This increases your grip and makes cutting through loose snow easier. Skiers should flex down and place their weight on the opposite ski as they begin the next turn. Finally, you should learn how to properly use your ski pole. Many skiers abuse their poles by shooting them behind them. This can result in pole loss during a fall. Instead, bring your hand through the strap from underneath and then lower it to grip the handle. After that, the pole will trail you down the slope. Allowing your wrist to twist while skiing will result in a loss of balance and control.
